Meet the Friendly Potato, a small, soft crochet rattle with a cheerful face. This Pebble baby toy is the right size for tiny hands, and it makes a gentle rattle when it is shaken. It is suitable from birth, so it can be one of the very first toys a baby owns.
It is made from organic cotton, and handmade by HathayBunano, a non profit fair trade organisation in Bangladesh that creates fairly paid, flexible work for women in rural communities. It is certified fair trade by the WFTO, so each rattle helps pay fair wages to the person who made it.
It is a thoughtful gift for a new baby or a christening, and a sweet one to tuck in alongside a card for new parents. It is also easy to look after, as it can go in the washing machine.

The details
Pebble. 100% organic cotton with 100% polyester filling. Contains a rattle. Approx 12cm long and 7cm wide; handmade, so sizes vary slightly. Suitable from birth. Machine washable at 40°C and can be tumble dried on a low setting. Safety tested to EN71 and CE. Certified fair trade by the WFTO. Handmade in Bangladesh.
