Sometimes called Dragon Tail or Creeping Philodendron, Rhaphidophora decursiva is a striking tropical climber and one of the more sought after aroids around. Young plants start with simple, glossy, elongated leaves; as it matures and climbs, the foliage grows large and dramatically fenestrated, with deep, glossy splits that give it real architectural presence in a room.

It is a vigorous, rewarding plant that loves to climb. Give it a moss pole or support and it will grow upward happily, developing bigger and more deeply cut leaves as it goes.

Care at a glance

Light: Bright, indirect light.
Water: Water when the top few centimetres of compost dry out. It dislikes sitting wet.
Humidity: Happy in average rooms, lusher in higher humidity.
Support: Loves a moss pole to climb.
Note: Best kept away from curious pets, as aroids can irritate if chewed.
