Labisia 'Turtle Back' is a rare tropical treasure, prized for its deep green, quilted foliage patterned like a turtle's shell. The textured, richly veined leaves give it a wonderfully tactile, sculptural quality that makes it a real collector's piece.
It thrives in the warm, humid, filtered light of its native tropical understorey, so it is happiest in a bright bathroom, a plant cabinet or grouped with other humidity lovers.
Care at a glance
Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves and fade the pattern.
Water: Keep the soil consistently lightly moist but never soggy, watering when the top 2 to 3cm feels dry. Ease off a little in winter.
Humidity: Loves high humidity, ideally 60 to 80 percent. Use a pebble tray, humidifier or group with other plants.
Note: Best kept out of reach of curious pets as a precaution.
