These are lovely French sablés, made with pure fresh butter and studded with apricot chips, so you get that crumbly, buttery bite with little bursts of fruit running through it. They come from La Sablésienne, who have been making shortbread in Sablé sur Sarthe since 1670, using the original recipe.
The tin itself does a lot of the work as a gift. It's round, finished in pink and gold, and worth keeping on the side once the biscuits are gone. Lovely for a birthday, a thank you, or just because.
