A clear glass dessert cup with a hammered surface that catches the light and feels lovely in the hand. It comes from Firozabad, India's great glassmaking town, and is made from partly recycled glass by makers who have been working this way for generations.

Bring it out for scoops of ice cream, a fruit salad, eton mess or a little trifle, and it makes even a simple pudding feel like an occasion. It is just as good for nuts or olives with drinks.
