A compact charmer, Peperomia 'Lucinda' (Peperomia caperata 'Lucinda') is admired for its deeply rippled, heart-shaped leaves in shimmering silvery-green, threaded with dark veining and washed with subtle blushed-red tones. A ripple-type peperomia, it packs a lot of texture and colour into a small, neat rosette, making it one of the most refined of the radiator plants.
Its tidy size makes it perfect for a desk, shelf or grouped display, where it brings a colourful, tactile accent without demanding much attention. An easy, forgiving houseplant that suits modern interiors and first-time plant owners alike.
Light: Bright, indirect light brings out the best colour. It tolerates a little shade, though the tones may soften.
Water: Water thoroughly, then let the top half of the soil dry out before watering again. The fleshy leaves store moisture, so it prefers slightly too dry over too wet.
Humidity: Happy in average room humidity, with a little extra always welcome.
Temperature: Keep it warm, above 15°C, and away from cold draughts.
Pet note: Considered non-toxic, so a good choice for homes with pets and children.
Supplied in a 12cm nursery pot. As a living plant, size and form vary from one to the next, so yours will be one of a kind.
