Peperomia obtusifolia 'Green Gold', also known as the variegated Baby Rubber Plant, is a compact, easy going houseplant with thick, glossy, spoon shaped leaves splashed in rich green and buttery cream. Neat and cheerful, it stays small and tidy, making it ideal for shelves, desks and smaller spaces.

Its succulent like leaves store water, so it is forgiving of the odd missed watering and a brilliant choice for beginners. Bright light keeps the variegation crisp and bold.

Care at a glance

Light: Bright, indirect light for the best variegation. Avoid harsh direct sun.
Water: Water when the top few centimetres of compost dry out. It would rather be slightly dry than soggy.
Humidity: Happy in average rooms.
Note: Generally considered non toxic and one of the more pet tolerant houseplants, though it is still best kept out of reach.
