A small ceramic plate that does a surprisingly good job of grating garlic and nutmeg for a dressing, ginger for tea, or chocolate for pudding. Rub the ingredient over the surface and it comes out fine and even, without the bite of a metal grater, which makes it a nice one to hand to children in the kitchen too.

It's compact, made for small quantities rather than big batches, and being ceramic it doesn't oxidise what you're grating, so flavours and colour hold up better than they would on metal.
